The features I'd like Kindle to have September 4, 2010 Sriram N. Kizhakkemadam I have used my friend's Kindle, but I don't own one. I will not own one until I find a product that meets my requirements:
1) I like the e-ink display, it's light on my eyes. But more than just using the Kindle for reading, I would like to play music. 3GB memory is hardly anything to store all the content that I need. So, Kindle should increase support of audio and video file formats and also increase memory to 120 GB (atleast).
2) I like to use one device in which I can read books, "write" notes, do an audio recording of a class and also take snapshots of what's written on the board. So definitely, I need a good quality dual microphone, back facing 5MP+ camera with autoflash and zoom and front facing camera too for chatting. Now, how to accomodate a zoom camera in such a form factor - I leave it to the intelligent product design engineers to work on. For writing notes, I prefer a stylus pen (I own a Fujitsu Tablet PC and love writing with the stylus pen that is provided). The microphone should be able to record well at a distance of 15 feet from the speaker (for a classroom).
Kindle DX September 3, 2010 Kim B. I absolutely love my Kindle. My husband bought it for me for my birthday and it is the BEST present I have ever had. Downloading from the Kindle store is a breeze. One disadvantage to the DX model, it is rather large and doesn't travel well if you want to just put it in your purse. It's larger than most pocketbooks. Other than that, it is GREAT.
Amazon Kindle DX - 2nd Generation September 3, 2010 skhan 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found the kindle dx a bit dark.I was hoping a much better bright screen to read in dark too. But it came out to be dark. I am thinkign of returning it and try Latest generation. Beacuse for me bright screen is really important. I don't feel comfortable with dull dark screens where i have to look hard to focus on words.
Just what I needed! September 3, 2010 Chestnut (Longview, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have MS & thought my reading days were over until I found the Kindle DX. I tried the smaller Kindle first but in order to adjust the font to a size I could easily read, there wasn't enough room on the screen to constitute a page. The DX is perfect for me in every way! I've read 2 books and feel as though I have a little of my independence again! It is very easy to use and when placed inside a cover it is just like holding a book. I love it!
Very glad I got this September 3, 2010 A. Munro (Reading, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had been wanting a Kindle DX for a while and with this new remake I had to finally get it. I am a programmer and read many technical books. The extra screen size in the DX is perfect for technical books. It is bigger/heavier than the regular kindle, but it is not uncomfortable at all, it is still very easy to hold and use. I can't praise enough the clarity of the screen and the quality of the construction.
I've been e-reading for about 12 years on things from Palm pilots to pocket-pc's to phones and computers, but I have never enjoyed reading on a screen as much. The screen on the Kindle is so easy on the eyes and the letters are very well defined.
I'm very happy with my decision to buy this and and am very unhappy with myself for waiting so long to do so.
